Briget Boyle @ Heartbreak Residue Album Release Celebration with Katie Cash

Heartbreak Residue Album Release Celebration with Katie Cash, San Francisco, CA

Heartbreak Residue, the new LP from Bay-Area songwriter and activist Briget Boyle is a record that is ripe with raw, honest emotion. Buoyed by propulsive percussion and shimmering electric guitar, Boyle paints melodic pictures of the pivotal moments in life. Told with an eloquent economy of language, she speaks to the universal human experience. The tales written in this melodic jewelbox journal are imbued with a bittersweet nostalgia, yet they are far from maudlin. Rather, Boyle’s gift of a voice, leaping effortlessly from aching and intimate, to a soaring, razor-edged flash of power, rings with such a purity of sentiment that the listener is immediately drawn into her world, soon to find themselves shouting along with every chorus.

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Katie Cash writes personally charged, emotion-packed songs and performs them with a passionate urgency that has made her a local star in the Bay Area music scene. As a member of multiple bands including Skip The Needle, Cash recently made her debut solo album “Gift Horse”, produced by Julie Wolf (Ani DiFranco, Carly Simon, Indigo Girls). The album showcases her pointed
songwriting and the edgy musical sensibility that's been honed by extensive roadwork
and onstage experience. “Katie Cash gave excellent support with her rock and folk endeavors, entwining delicate and powerful into a set so worth seeing.” – The Bay Bridged

Collaborative Shows

In honor of Women’s History Month, Ashkenaz will pay homage to The Women Who Built Ashkenaz, with a night of performances, honoring the many women who have played an integral role in Ashkenaz’s success over the last 50 years.

This special event will pay tribute to the female pioneers who have shaped and strengthened our community over the years, specifically those involved in the formative transition of Ashkenaz into the nonprofit that it is today. From music and dance to community building, these women have left a lasting impact on Ashkenaz and beyond.

We'll hear from trailblazing musicians, dancers, and community leaders who will share their stories and experiences as the founding members of the board of directors at Ashkenaz and leaders of the huge transition that transpired after the death of our founder, David Nadel. Be inspired by their passion, creativity, and drive as they share what they've learned, and the legacy they've built.

Enjoy live music, dance performances, and a special reception to commemorate the evening. Connect with fellow members of the community, and engage in conversation about the role of women in shaping our shared cultural heritage.

Come be a part of this historic celebration and honor the women who have made Ashkenaz the vibrant and thriving community it is today!
